University Secretary

Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)-Fer serves as University Secretary of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2021–2026 period, assisting the leadership of USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si.

Prof. Fidel Ganis was born in Medan on May 30, 1964. The functional position he holds is Professor with the rank of Middle Administrator, Group IVd.

His formal education started from SD Negeri III Lubuk Pakam (graduated 1975), continued to SMP Negeri 1 Medan (graduated 1979), and SMA Negeri 1 Medan (graduated 1982). He earned his Bachelor of Medicine from the USU Faculty of Medicine (graduated 1986) and his Medical Doctor Profession also from the USU Faculty of Medicine (graduated 1988). Prof. Fidel took Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at the USU Faculty of Medicine (graduated 1997), Master of Clinical Medicine at the USU Faculty of Medicine (graduated 2011), Specialist II Consultant in Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility, Collegium of Obstetrics & Gynecology (graduated 2012), and Doctorate in Medical Science from the USU Faculty of Medicine (graduated 2012). He was then inaugurated as a Professor in 2017.

His work history is quite long, namely as a Doctor of BKKA Pertamina Pusat, Jakarta (1989–1990), Doctor of North Jayapura Health Center, Jayapura Regency Health Office - Irian Jaya Province, Jayapura (1990), Head of the Irian Jaya Governor's Office Polyclinic Technical Service Unit, Irian Jaya Province Level I Regional Government Health Office, Jayapura (1990–1993), Medical Staff UPF Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Regional General Hospital of Sorong Regency, West Papua Province, Sorong (1998–2000), Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Diploma-3 Program in Nursing Science, Universitas Cendrawasih in Sorong Regency, West Papua Province, Sorong (1998–2000), Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKES) Sorong, Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynecology of the USU Faculty of Medicine (2008–Present), Lecturer in Diploma-4 in Midwife Educator of the USU Faculty of Nursing (2010–2014), Lecturer in the Master’s in Reproductive Health of the USU Faculty of Public Health (2012–Present), Secretary of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the USU Faculty of Medicine (2009–2016), Secretary of the SMF of Obstetrics and Gynecology, H Adam Malik Hospital Medan (2009–2016), Vice Rector II for Human Resources and Finance of USU (2016–2021), and Information and Documentation Management Officer (2021).
