USU Public Relations - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) recognizes the winners of the USU Green Campus Competition 2022 and Poster Competition, in which faculties and units participated. Wednesday (21/12/2022), the reward distribution took place in the Academic Senate Room of the BPA USU Building.

The USU Green Campus Competition is organized by Ui Green Metric USU. This competition consists of six categories, including the Setting and Infrastructure Category won by the Faculty of Forestry, the Energy Efficiency Category won by UPT Laboratory, the Waste Category won by USU Hospital, the Transportation Category won by the Bureau of Assets and Businesses, and the Education and Research Category won by the Faculty of Health and Society.

There were numerous competitors in this competition. In relation to the green campus aim, Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, USU Vice Rector IV for Information, Planning, and Development, deemed this an accomplishment to be proud of.

Prof. Opim remarked, "We're absolutely delighted that we're still able to recruit competitors for this green campus target."

In addition to boosting USU's ranking, the purpose of this competition is also to preserve USU's environment, such as by cultivating a green atmosphere and caring for the environment.

"As a result of the fact that everyone wants a green lifestyle, we wish to expand our efforts beyond merely making the environment greener. The culture of living in harmony with the environment, "he remarked.

In accordance with this, the Chairman of UiGM USU, Dr. Emh. Hafizhul Khair AM S.T., MT, stated that the purpose of this competition was to develop UiGM and that it was a policy directed at the academic community to establish a welcoming environment on campus. So that USU not only gets a ranking in the competition but also engages competitive students.

The Chairperson of UiGM USU stated, "It is expected that we can inspire students to participate without worry because they already have experience and will be even better prepared at the national level in the future."
