Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) SPIRIT Project Erasmus Plus explained and promoted the activities of the SPIRIT Project and SPIRIT Club which have been going on for three years at the International Conference on Integrative Physiology and Molecular Medicine (ICIPMM), Ipoh Perak, Malaysia.

This event is an international conference held by the Faculty of Medicine Royal College of Medicine Perak, with the theme "Health and Diseases: The Integration of Physiological Instruments and Molecular Technique" on 27-29 February 2024. The conference collaborated with the Universitas Sumatera Utara, attended almost 250 conference participants attended by various universities around the world.

This conference gave tribute to all the research involved, directly or indirectly to the advancement of medicine and healthcare management: the research behind diseases understanding, drug discovery, and disease management; and to the group who works on instruments for better research and patient management: the technologists and engineers who work to improve the tools in we use in medical care, this was presented by organizing chairman of ICIPMM which is Prof. Noorzaid bin Muhammad.

The SPIRIT Project presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Dr. Dina Keumala Sari, M. Gizi, SpGK(K), including the goals of the SPIRIT Project, namely increasing sports activities and providing appropriate clinical nutrition to prevent non-communicable diseases. This is focused on young people with the aim of preventing various diseases such as obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cancer and other non-communicable diseases. This SPIRIT Project activity involves European countries, namely the University of Nicosia (Cyprus), the University of Lisbon (Portugal), and the University Politecnica de Valencia (Spain); Asian countries namely ISBR Business School (India), Lovely Professional University (India), Bharati Vidyapeeth deemed to be University (India), University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka), Sabaragamuwa University (Sri Lanka), University of North Sumatra (Indonesia), Agricultural Institute Bogor (Indonesia), Syah Kuala University (Indonesia).

In the future, the sustainability of the SPIRIT Project needs to be maintained by developing the SPIRIT Club which will metamorphose into the Global SPIRIT Club Network (GSCN). In the future, GSCN will be developed in each country to develop the SPIRIT Project, so that its three-year role will produce results in supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preventing non-communicable diseases.
