Specialist-1 Program in Clinical Nutrition

The Specialist Program in Clinical Nutrition of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) aims to train quality clinical nutritionists who can provide optimal nutrition services to the community. The comprehensively structured curriculum includes an in-depth study of clinical nutrition, medical dietetics, nutritional status evaluation, and nutritional management in various medical conditions.
Additionally, students in this program have the opportunity to develop clinical skills and engage in research in the field of clinical nutrition. Graduates of this program are expected to not only become skilled nutrition practitioners but also play an active role in disease prevention efforts through a deep understanding of the importance of nutrition in maintaining health. Graduates of this study program will obtain the Clinical Nutrition Specialist (Sp.G.K.) degree.

Organizing quality clinical nutrition specialist medical education and following advances in medical science and technology with good organizational governance and quality assurance systems, especially in the field of nutrition in tropical infectious diseases and malignancies (oncology).

Organizing the latest, applicable, and evidence-based research in developing clinical nutrition specialist knowledge, especially in the field of nutrition in tropical infectious diseases and malignancies (oncology).
Cooperation
Building cooperation in education and research with research institutions at home and abroad, especially in the field of nutrition in tropical infectious diseases and malignancies (oncology).
Community Service
Organizing community services in the field of clinical nutrition, especially in the field of nutrition in tropical infectious diseases and malignancies (oncology).
Tri Dharma
Providing broad access and creating a conducive academic atmosphere to support the tridharma of education.

Concentration also helps students to explore specific fields that are of interest and passion to them, thus expanding their horizons and enriching their learning experience.
