Department of Industrial Engineering Held 6th NCIE
NCIE is an activity managed by the Department of Industrial Engineering in collaboration with laboratories. Vice-Dean 1 Engineering Faculty USU Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung MT said this activity supports the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program because it is a follow-up activity from a course.
PR USU – The Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (FT) Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) again held the 6th National Conference on Industrial Engineering (NCIE) event. The event took place at the USU Student Center on Wednesday, (25/05/2022).
NCIE is an activity managed by the Department of Industrial Engineering in collaboration with laboratories. Vice Dean 1 (Wadek 1) FT USU Prof. Dr.Ir. Renita Manurung MT said this activity supports the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program because it is a follow-up activity from a course.
“So there are activities like practice or continuation of a course. So it is very supportive of the MBKM program and a system or a case-based project-based learning system," said Prof. Renita.
Prof. Renita also added that the NCIE seminar has many positive things and benefits, one of which is to support Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 2 and KPI 7.
"So, if we relate it to the main performance indicators, it can support IKU 7 and 2. So many positive things can be obtained from this activity," explained Prof Renita.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Ir. Aulia Ishak S.T, M.T, Ph.D said that NCIE is an activity to share knowledge related to Product Development Design courses and support the participation of lecturers and students sharing with invited speakers.
“We hope that this is a sharing of knowledge related to the Product Development Design course. And to support the participation of lecturers and students in sharing information with resource persons that we bring from ITS as well as from associations or solo, "said Aulia Ishak.
The Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering also hopes that later this activity can make students creative and innovative in terms of product development design to support the fulfillment of KPI 2 and KPI 7.
"We hope to support IKU 2 and IKU 7, namely how students can be creative and innovate in product development design," said Ir. Aulia Isaac.
For information, the 6th NCIE was held offline for the first time. Before, it was held online for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
