USU PR - Faculty of Economics and Business (FMIPA) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Scientific Oration, as one of a series of events to celebrate its 62nd Anniversary. With the theme "Ethics and Knowledge" accompanied by the movement "Industry-Academia Collaboration for Sustainable Economic and Business Growth". It took place in the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall of FEB USU, on Thursday (30/11/2023).

The scientific oration entitled "Economic Development and the Housing Industry", was presented by the President Director of Bank BTN, Nixon LP. Napitupulu. The series of events celebrating the Anniversary of FEB USU will continue by holding a Bazaar and Job Fair, for three consecutive days. Then at the peak of the celebration will be closed by holding a Fun Walk.

USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si, represented by Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and USU Cooperation Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M. Si highlighted that in its 62-year journey, FEB USU has succeeded in producing the best graduates in their fields.

"Let me represent the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara to congratulate the Faculty of Economics and Business which is 62 years old," said Prof. Poppy.

Vice Rector III revealed that with this long age journey, FEB USU is expected to continue to be one of the favorite faculties with superior study programs. Also, this faculty can become a leading educational institution in Indonesia, making a significant contribution to economic recovery and development, both at the national and international levels.

"FEB USU must be able to continue to accelerate its movements and steps in designing programs that support sustainable economic development," explained Prof. Poppy.

Dean of FEB USU: Dr. Fadli, S.E., M.Si., explained the focus of their work since 2021, from improving infrastructure to developing human resources, especially lecturers and education staff. Until this year, they focused on achieving internationalization targets, under the provisions of the university and the Ministry. By allocating all available resources to achieve international accreditation.

"What is needed now for internationalization is networking. Therefore, we send young lecturers to continue their studies abroad," said Dr. Fadli.

Nixon LP. Napitupulu stated that FEB USU is one of the schools that attracts many people. FEB USU provides a place and opportunity for the younger generation to further develop and hone their abilities. USU's young generation can grow and learn in various fields, such as economics, management, business opportunity science, and accounting.

"This FEB is where I went to school too. This place provides a place to learn and provides opportunities for the younger generation to grow," said Nixon.
