USU PR - Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received a visit from the Medical Council of Indonesia, in the framework of the Eligibility Assessment Visit of the Opening Education Program and Sub Specialist of Inner Disease Sciences and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Activities took place in the Aula IV Floor RSP. Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU, on Wednesday (29/11/2023).

These visits are a step that must be taken to ensure that the educational programs are ready and in line with the established standards, thus producing graduates who are competent and ready to contribute in the world of medicine to the improvement of the degree of public health.

For Prodi Sub Specialist in Internal Diseases, three examinations will be evaluated in this opportunity, namely Cardiovascular, Rheumatology, and Tropical and Infectious Diseases. For Prodi Obstetrics and Gynecology, there are two examinations, Fetomaternal and Fertility Reproductive Endocrinology.

Rector of USU Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.S., M.Si, represented by Vice Rector III of Research, Dedication to the Society and Cooperation of USU Professor Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si. M. Si, Apt warmly welcomed the presence of the Consult Team of the Medical Council of Indonesia, namely Dr. Mariatul Fadilah MARS., Sp.KKLP., Ph.D; as well as Dr. Niyoman Mahartini Sp.Pk(K). 

“Permit me on behalf of the Rector, University of Northern Sumatra, to express my thanks and welcome to the Team of Consultants of Medical Councils of Indonesia,” Prof. Poppy said. 

In line with that, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Olive Hasibuan, S.Si., M. Si, Apt showed that the Subspecialist Educational Program of Tropical Infectious Diseases completed 9 participants, while fetomaternal reached 11 participants, and FER (Fertility Endocrinology Reproduction) with 18 participants. 

“The subspecialist Education Program of Inner Disease Sciences University based was opened by the Rector of USU on September 17, 2020 (SK Rector 1851/UN5.1.R/SK/PRS/2020). And the establishment of the study program Sp2 Obstetrics Gynecology is empowered by the Rector’s Office on April 25, 2022,” explained Prof. Poppy. 

Last Prof. Dr. Anjelisa Olive Hasibuan, S.Si., M. Si, Apt expressed his hope, that what has been observed by the counselors on this occasion will produce positive recommendations for both of these study programs, which are now in its capacity as a new study program. “We hope that later information, evaluation, and good recommendations from the Counselors, can be our benchmark to develop what we have prepared for today,” said Prof. Poppy.
