USU PR-Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) again received a visit from the Indonesian Higher Education Health Self-Accreditation Agency (LAM-PTKes) in the context of a field assessment of the Dental Conservation Specialist Dentist Education Study Program (PPDGS), Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) USU, which took place in the Nazir Alwi Room, FKG USU, on Monday-Tuesday (04-05/09/2023).
Accreditation is feedback for the Study Program, Faculty, and USU to always improve the Internal Quality Assurance System as a continuous improvement quality. In line with the university's desire to support the quality assurance system in the study program.
USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.sos., M.Si welcomed the arrival of 2 assessor teams from LAM-PTKes, namely Prof. drg. Suryono, SH, MM, Ph.D., and Dr. drg. Hendra Dian Adhita Dharsono, Sp.KG (K)
"On behalf of the leadership of Universitas Sumatera Utara, we express our gratitude and welcome to the Accreditation Assessor Team," said Prof. Muryanto.
In his remarks, the USU Rector is committed to implementing Tri Dharma (education, research/publication, and community service) according to national and international standards in Dental Conservation Science, with research oriented towards natural resources, technology, and art, supported by scientific evidence and local wisdom. To produce innovative scientific work that is recognized globally.
"Of course, the university has a mission to expand the role of study programs in meeting the needs of society and industry in the field of dental conservation," said Prof. Muryanto.
In line with that, the Dean of the USU Faculty of Dentistry Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA (K) hopes that the efforts that have been maximized by PPDGS Dental Conservation FKG USU over the past five years will obtain superior accreditation. To produce the best graduates with superior competence according to LAM-PTKes standards.
"Hopefully, portraits from the assessors if there are weaknesses, it can be improved in the future so that the expected graduates are by the standards of LAM-PTKes," hoped Dr. Essie.
After hearing the speech from the USU rector, one of the assessors Prof. drg. Suryono, SH, MM, Ph.D., was interested in USU's transformation into an Entrepreneur University. And hopes that the USU Faculty of Dentistry can develop its unique advantages. To be able to face the challenges of the new Health Law, by making innovative synergy the key to success.
"Hopefully in the future, the Faculty of Dentistry can develop what is superior to FKG USU," said Prof. Suryono.
