LAMSAMA Field Assessment of Doctoral Program in Chemical Science

USU PR - The Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences Self-Accreditation Agency (LAMSAMA) conducted a field assessment of the Chemistry Doctoral study program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) in the Multipurpose Room 1st Floor Unit 8 FMIPA, Tuesday (08/08/2023).
The activity was attended by two LAMSAMA assessors, Prof. Dr. Jasril, M.Si from Riau University and Prof. Dr. Didik Prasetyoko, M.Sc from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology.
Vice Rector I for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A. is optimistic that with various achievements made by the study program, it can improve its accreditation status.
“The study program has certainly made many achievements, including international cooperation, publications, and citations, not only among lecturers but also students. This can put the status of the study program much better than the status that has been obtained now,” he said Vice Rector 1 USU.
Field assessments are carried out to see the suitability and confirm the data or documents reported by the study program.
Dean of FMIPA USU, Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc, said the study program has made various preparations in accordance with the assessment criteria and hopes that through this it can improve the achievements of the study program.
“The preparation of the program itself is how to carry out in accordance with the criteria as well as the presence of assessors can confirm how these numbers can be obtained. We hope that with this accreditation, we will move towards the international level,” said Dean of FMIPA.
Prof. Dr. Didik Prasetyoko, M.Sc revealed the assessment criteria that must be met by the study program, which includes 50 assessment items with 9 main criteria.
“Based on the standard criteria set by LAMSAMA, the assessment refers there. For doctoral programs, there are 50 assessment items with 9 main criteria, starting from the vision and mission, manners, to the 9th criterion,” said Prof. Didik.
Prof. Dr. Jasril, M.Si said that previously, there had been an assessment of the criteria given by the study program, which was then confirmed in this field assessment.
“Before coming here, we already had an evaluation desk process. So there has been an assessment that needs to be confirmed later, now, in the field assessment,” he added.
