USU PR - Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) again received a visit from the Indonesian Institute for Self-Accreditation of Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes), in the framework of the Minimum Accreditation Field Assessment of the FK USU Clinical Nutrition Study Program. It took place in the Third Floor Hall of FK USU, on Tuesday-Wednesday (28-29/11/2023).

USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.Sos., M.Si, represented by Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and USU Cooperation Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M. Si welcomed the arrival of 2 assessor teams from LAM-PTKes, namely dr.H. Dadang Arief Primana, MSc, Sp.KO, SpGK, Subsp.PK.(K); and dr. Agussalim Bukhari, M.Med, Ph.D, Sp.GK(K).

"Allow me on behalf of the leadership of Universitas Sumatera Utara, to express my gratitude and welcome to the LAM-PTKes Accreditation Assessor Team," said Prof. Poppy.

Prof. Dr. apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M. Si highlighted the vision and mission of the Clinical Nutrition Study Program, which underlines the commitment to achieving 3 graduate profiles, namely; good clinician, good researcher and health system partner with a focus on tropical infectious diseases and malignancies (Oncology), especially in the Asia Pacific region.

"We must be able to contribute to determining policies to overcome nutritional problems, especially for tropical infectious diseases and malignancies (oncology)," explained Prof. Poppy.

The Clinical Nutrition Study Program is a new study program at FK USU. For this reason, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M. Si hopes that the assessors can see the achievements and potential that have been built by the Clinical Nutrition Study Program. Because good accreditation recognition will be a positive encouragement for the Clinical Nutrition Study Program as a qualified and committed academic entity.

"We will also get good information, evaluation, and recommendations from the assessor team, which aims to support the progress of what we have prepared today," said Prof. Poppy.

Dean of FK USU Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K) emphasized the readiness of the Faculty to face the field assessment of the Clinical Nutrition Study Program. Realizing that the admission of students to this program must go through the LAM-PTKes accreditation process. Because official recognition of the quality of study programs can provide quality education to national standards.

"We must undergo the LAMPTKes accreditation process and we are grateful to the assessor team who has deigned to carry out this accreditation," said Prof. Aldy.

dr.H. Dadang Arief Primana, MSc, Sp.KO, SpGK, Subsp.PK. (K) as one of the assessors expressed his hope that the Clinical Nutrition Study Program at the USU Faculty of Medicine can be opened immediately and run smoothly. To be able to produce competent graduates, especially in dealing with health issues such as nutrition for infectious diseases and malignancies.

"What is important is the relationship of the entire hospital community and the academic community in carrying out cooperation," said Dr. Dadang.
