Pilmapres 2026 Awarding Day Produces Outstanding Students

Direktur Direktorat Kemahasiswaan dan Alumni USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, menyampaikan bahwa Pilmapres merupakan bagian dari pembinaan mahasiswa di tingkat fakultas hingga universitas.
HUMAS USU — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the Awarding Day for the 2026 Outstanding Student Selection (Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi/Pilmapres) on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) at the Hall of the Faculty of Nursing, USU.
This event marked the culmination of the university-level selection process for outstanding students. During the ceremony, winners from both undergraduate and diploma levels were announced, representing top talents in student achievement.
At the undergraduate level, first place was awarded to Atiqa Zhakira Syahrul from the Faculty of Economics and Business. Second place was achieved by Siti Nur Salsabila from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, while third place went to Vanecia Thania Ruth Pakpahan from the Faculty of Public Health.
Meanwhile, at the diploma level, first place was secured by Patrick Nicxon Hutabarat from the Accounting Study Program, followed by Arya Dwi Ardhana Wibowo from the Statistics Study Program in second place.
The Director of the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni of USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, stated that Pilmapres is part of student development conducted from the faculty level up to the university level.
“Pilmapres is the result of continuous development at the faculty level,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of outstanding students in shaping successful alumni.
“Outstanding students lead to successful graduates,” he added.
According to the jury report delivered by Prof. drg. Sondang Pintauli, Ph.D., FISDPH, FISPD, Pilmapres evaluates not only academic performance but also other competencies that contribute to student excellence.
“It is not only about academics, but also creativity and communication skills,” she explained.
This year’s Pilmapres was participated in by 17 students, consisting of 15 undergraduate and 2 diploma students. The evaluation was conducted by seven judges based on three main aspects: creative ideas or innovative products, English proficiency, and outstanding achievements.
Through this event, Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes to continue producing outstanding students who are capable of competing at national and international levels, while also inspiring others to achieve excellence.
