USU Faculty of Law Scientific Oration Invites the Head of KY RI

“It is hoped that the graduates of the Faculty of Law USU, in addition to achieving achievements, must, of course, be able to uphold the law in accordance with the principles of justice in Indonesia,” said Vice Rector I USU.”
USU PR - The Faculty of Law (FH) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Scientific Oration entitled “Tantangan Kekinian Komisi Yudisial Dalam Pengawasan Peradilan” which invited Prof. Amzulian Rifai S.H., LL.M., Ph.D as Head of the Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia. This activity is located in the Moot Court Building of the Faculty of Law USU on Thursday (29/02/2024).
Vice Rector I of USU, Dr. Edy Ikhsan SH, MA in his speech expressed the urgency of this Scientific Oration activity is for Faculty of Law USU to get the latest enlightenment and information considering the challenges of upholding justice in Indonesia are increasingly complex and must remain in accordance with the principles of justice.
Furthermore, Vice Rector I USU said that this theme is very important and relevant to judicial supervision because it is an important pillar in the Rule of Law. The Judicial Commission is in line with this. USU is known to have adapted to the Case Method in the context of learning to respond to the professionalism of Faculty of Law USU students.
Dr. Edy Ikhsan SH, MA hopes that Faculty of Law USU can continue to improve its best achievements and achievements and produce the best graduates who can make the alma mater proud and can make a significant contribution to USU.
“It is hoped that the graduates of the Faculty of Law USU, in addition to their achievements, must be able to uphold the law in accordance with the principles of justice in Indonesia,” said Vice Rector I USU.
The speaker of the Scientific Oration, Prof. Amzulian Rifai S.H., LL.M., Ph.D as well as the Head of the Indonesian Judicial Commission, underlined the meaning of his oration so that USU Faculty of Law students can keep up with the latest developments. Students are advised to be observant to find out how the systematics of judges' decisions with constructive criticism. The way of learning must also be improved, not only by memorizing articles, but also the skill to analyze.
The Minister of Law and Human Rights, Prof. Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly, S.H., M.Sc., Ph.D. advised the Faculty of Law of USU to become a leading faculty of work not only at USU but at the national and international levels. Students must be skilled by adding good knowledge and studying diligently. Participating in various activities not only on campus, but it is also important to add networking outside the campus to broaden students' horizons.
“Students must be more active in engaging and updating about the transformation of law in Indonesia. Like picking up the ball, we have to start the initiation first in order to be knowledgeable,” said the Minister of Law and Human Rights in his interview.
For information, the Scientific Oration is one of a series of activities for the 70th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law USU. The Fun Walk activity on March 2nd will be the last activity on this FH Anniversary.
