In the competition, which took place from February 2-6, 2024, the USU FK Team consisted of Daffa Indriani, Bayu Harly Putra, Aa Chaga Qambara Taqwa, Muhammad Ilham Bariqi, Putri Chalya Firjatu and Muhammad Shafa Girsang.

USU PR: A team of students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) won a bronze prize at the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) competition, which is part of Thailand Inventors Day 2024. The event was held at Event Hall 102 - 104, Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand.

In the competition that took place from February 2-6, 2024, the USU FK Team consisted of Daffa Indriani, Bayu Harly Putra, Aa Chaga Qambara Taqwa, Muhammad Ilham Bariqi, Putri Chalya Firjatu and Muhammad Shafa Girsang. They won after beating contestants from 20 other countries from various parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Japan, China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and others. The resulting inventor took the title “MAID (Malaria Infection Detection); Optimizing IoT Applications Through Synergistic Integration with Semantic Segmentation AI.”
 

 

 

The achievement was directly appreciated by the Dean of the USU Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Aldy Safrudin Rambe, Sp S (K), with gratitude and joy. According to him, the success of the USU FK student team in the international event can increase self-confidence among other students and help them continue to develop their abilities and talents. In addition, with competitors from various developed countries, it is certainly a matter of pride for the Universitas Sumatera Utara, which has shown its work very well and won a bronze medal.

“I am proud of the achievements of these students. It was not an easy struggle for them to face so many participants from more advanced countries,” he said. (RJ)
