Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has officially opened registration for the Phase II Mandiri Student Admission (SMM), providing another opportunity for prospective students who were not admitted through the SNBT or the first phase of the SMM.
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has officially opened registration for prospective students wishing to pursue their studies through the Phase II Mandiri Student Admission (Seleksi Mahasiswa Mandiri/SMM) pathway.
Comprehensive information regarding the application process, study program quotas, tuition fees (Uang Kuliah Tunggal or UKT) for each semester, and the Institutional Development Contribution (Iuran Pengembangan Institusi or IPI) is available on the USU Admissions website.
The announcement was made by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., through an official statement on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
According to Prof. Poppy, registration for the Phase II SMM officially opened on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
"This admission pathway provides another opportunity for prospective students who were unsuccessful in the National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) or the first phase of the Mandiri Student Admission (SMM) previously conducted by USU," she said.
Phase II SMM USU Schedule
- Online Registration: July 4–12, 2026
- Entrance Examination: July 14, 2026
- Announcement of Results: July 18, 2026
Registration Fees
- IDR 700,000 for three study program choices (with at least one Diploma III or Diploma IV program selected).
- IDR 800,000 for four study program choices (with at least one Diploma III or Diploma IV program selected).
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an Indonesian citizen (WNI) with a valid National Identity Number (NIK).
- Be a final-year student in a Senior High School (SMA), Vocational High School (SMK), Islamic Senior High School (MA), or an equivalent institution graduating in 2026, or a Package C student graduating in 2026, with a maximum age of 25 years as of July 1, 2026. Applicants who have not yet received their diploma must provide a certificate confirming their status as a Grade 12 student, which must include:
- Personal information, including name, class, National Student Identification Number (NISN), and National School Identification Number (NPSN);
- A recent color photograph;
- The signature of the school principal;
- The official school stamp affixed over the photograph.
- Be a graduate of an SMA/SMK/MA or an equivalent institution, or a Package C graduate from 2024 or 2025, with a maximum age of 25 years as of July 1, 2026.
- Applicants who graduated from an equivalent high school outside Indonesia must possess a diploma that has been officially recognized and equated by the relevant authorities.
