USU PR - The Indonesian Institute for Self-Accreditation of Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) carried out a field assessment of a new study program, namely the Subspecialist Program in Surgical Science at the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Universitas Sumatera Utara. The field assessment brought in two teams of assessors, namely assessor dr. Nurcahya Setyawan. Sp.B-KBD from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Dr. Kiki Lukman, dr. M.Si., Sp.B-BKD from Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD). This activity was held in the 3rd Floor Hall of FK USU on Monday (12/02/2024).
Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A., Vice Rector I for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, said that the Subspecialty Program in Surgical Science, which is one of the new study programs at FK USU, will succeed in getting a good minimum accreditation. As well as ensuring that the curriculum, teaching staff, and facilities provided meet high standards.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S (K) revealed that the Subspecialist Program in Surgical Science at USU is a new Study Program which is the Rector's program. This Study Program is expected to have great potential and continue to serve the community in the field of internal medicine.
“The opening of the Surgical Science Study Program is a form of responsibility of the USU Rector for the needs of Subspecialists in Indonesia. So at this time, we have been preparing this prospective study program since almost two years ago, “said
Assessor Team I, dr. Nurcahya Setyawan. Sp.B-KBD, said that the assessor team has assessment indicator criteria, one of which is to see the readiness and completeness of the Study Program documents to be assessed.
“Lecturers or Human Resources. So whether the human resources, lecturers, and then educators are as suggested,” said Dr. Cahya.
