USU PR- Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again welcomed the Accreditation Independent Institution for Health Higher Education (LAM-PTKes) visit for a field assessment of the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine. The evaluation took place at the 4th-floor Auditorium of Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital from Monday to Wednesday (11/13-15/2023).
Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., the Rector of USU, represented by Vice Rector IV for Information, Planning, and Development at USU, Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc., welcomed the two assessors from LAM-PTKes, namely Dr. Siti Amarwati, Sp.PA., Subsp.O.G.P (K), S.P (K); along with Dr. dr. I Gusti Putu Suka Aryana, Sp.PD-KGer., FINASIM.
"Allow me to express my gratitude and welcome to the Accreditation Assessor Team from LAM-PTKes who have attended this activity," said Prof. Opim.
Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc., hoped that what the assessors observed during this field assessment could reflect the best achievements built by the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, USU. Thus, the program can receive the best recommendations from the assessor team. The goal is to continue improving the achievements and maintaining the current excellent accreditation.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe Sp.S(K)., explained that the field assessment for the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, USU, has been prepared for the past six months. Through various meetings and simulations, they have matured in maximizing their preparation for this field assessment.
"We have made various preparations, so we are more mature in maximizing the field assessment," said Prof. Aldy.
Dr. Siti Amarwati, Sp.PA, Subsp.O.G.P (K), S.P (K), explained that in this field assessment, they would match the existing indicators with the conditions found in the evaluation files and the performance of the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, USU. These indicators involve various aspects, including quality, which can describe the performance and quality of the study program.
"By assessing these indicators, it is expected to provide an accurate picture of the education quality in the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, USU," explained Dr. Siti.
Dr. dr. I Gusti Putu Suka Aryana, Sp.PD-KGer., FINASIM. conveyed an important message that accreditation is conducted so that the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, USU, can progress and develop from its previous achievements.
"So, if it was already good before, it is improved even better and developed until it reaches the international level," emphasized Dr. Gusti.
For information, the Clinical Pathology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, USU, is Indonesia's third clinical pathology study program and one of two programs on Sumatra Island.
