USU’s SRE’s First-Ever National Seminar
I am optimistic that this activity will generate innovative ideas and practical implementation to address the present energy and environmental challenges, particularly in achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060. Prof. Opim believes that SRE USU, collaborating with numerous parties, can encourage young people, particularly students, to continue to develop and contribute to the energy transition.
USU PR - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Society of Renewable Energy (SRE) hosted a National Seminar on New and Renewable Energy (NRE) in conjunction with the NRE Festival 2023 Awarding Day Competition. This activity took place on Thursday (11/05/2023) in the USU Auditorium, with the topic "Youth Participation and Adaptation Towards Sustainable New & Renewable Energy."
The previous series of NRE Fest 2023 activities featured three national-level competitions: the Scientific Writing Competition / Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah (LKTI), essay, and poster. According to the agenda, the grand finals of the LKTI and Essay competitions will be conducted today. The awards will thereafter take place in the evening.
The Deputy Governor of North Sumatra, H Musa Rajeckshah, S.Sos, M.Hum, praised the NRE Fest events and hoped that they would foster inventive, responsive, and educative young people in the field of renewable energy development. To maximize the use of new and renewable energy in Indonesia.
"The North Sumatra Provincial Government highly values the activities of SRE USU." I sincerely believe that through the NRE Fest USU national seminar with the subject Youth Participation and Adaptation Towards Sustainable New & Renewable Energy, imaginative, responsive, and educative youngsters would be born in the development of renewable energy. "As a result, Indonesia's aspirations for resilient and clean energy security can be realized," stated the Deputy Governor.
Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M Sc, Vice-Rector IV for Information, Planning, and Development at USU, speaking on behalf of USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, is optimistic that this activity would motivate students to contribute to energy transition innovation. Its execution will address energy and environmental crises, particularly the goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060.
