The Bureau of Human Resources is a supporting unit under the Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Assets. The USU Strategic Plan 2020-2024 states that the Bureau of Human Resources aims to transform Universitas Sumatera Utara into the best talent pool. The bureau is committed to increasing innovation and creativity, improving the quantity and quality of facilities, creating a conducive academic atmosphere, and enhancing the quality of human resources. To achieve this, the Bureau of Human Resources plans to utilize IT-based systems to focus on strategic planning and development of Universitas Sumatera Utara.
