Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital is an entity of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) established in 2011 and managed by Universitas Sumatera Utara. Located right across the USU campus, Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital is utilized for the education of doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital also serves as a class C hospital that accommodates public health services, including outpatient and inpatient care with a capacity of 400 beds, a 24-hour emergency room, 12 operating rooms, 18 delivery rooms, 42 intensive care beds, hemodialysis services, and medical rehabilitation. To support the hospital's functions, Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital is equipped with radiodiagnostic equipment, clinical laboratories, and other service facilities/equipment.
