25 Stakeholders in North Sumatra Province Attend USU Seminar and FGDs

USU PR - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Seminar and Focus Group Discussion with the theme “The Role of Higher Education in the Talent Management & Merit System of the State Civil Apparatus” in the context of the 72nd Anniversary of USU and the 25th Anniversary of the Faculty of Psychology of USU. The activity took place successfully at Grandika Hotel Medan, on Thursday (17/10/2024).
As one of the leading universities in Indonesia, USU has committed to providing quality education and producing competent and qualified future generations. As the Vice Rector II of USU, Human Resources, and Finance, Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution S.Sos., M.SP., said in his speech that the challenges and achievements passed by USU contribute to the development of science and technology in the country. This is in line with the 72nd Anniversary theme carried by USU, namely “Strengthening the Higher Education Ecosystem to Achieve the Golden Generation.”
The Faculty of Psychology has played an important role in the development of scientific research and community service as well as building strong collaborations through various institutions and industries with a harmonious spirit of collaboration and competency improvement. Providing services, assessment, potential and competence of affiliated ASN is one of its duties.
This activity is expected to provide perspectives, new insights and inspiration which are also interspersed with discussion activities as well as providing recommendations on the application of talent management. In addition to enriching knowledge, Vice Rector II USU hopes to strengthen networks with various partners who have previously collaborated.
“Not only on dies natalis, this activity needs to be carried out continuously because HR management is always running,” concluded Vice Rector II USU.
Fahmi M.Psi, Psychology as Head of the USU Competency Assessment Center (Puspekom), said there were 25 stakeholders from various regencies / cities in North Sumatra present at this activity. Puspekom USU is an organization that is tasked and given the authority to carry out a competency assessment model at USU. This institution focuses on organizing and developing USU talent management.
The invited resource person is a competent figure who can explain how HR management is in accordance with talent management and systems.
“In this activity, USU acts as an extension forum with various stakeholders in North Sumatra Province,” added the Chairperson of Puspekom USU.
