USU PR - The Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed the arrival of the Medan Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM Medan) and the Regional Health Laboratory (Labkesda) Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of North Sumatra Province to sign a collaboration, at the USU Faculty of Vocational Studies Hall, Thursday (27/07/2023).

The signing of this collaboration with BBPOM Medan plays a role in helping Faculty of Vocational Studies students participate in activities that support skill development and provide mature knowledge for students so that they are later ready to enter the industrial world.

In line with that, the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia SE., ME., said that the purpose of this cooperation agreement is to provide students with teaching that is in line with the learning model so that they are ready to use when working later.

"We hope that the signing of this collaboration will be carried out soon and students of the Faculty of Vocational Studies will not only learn in theory in lectures but also practice directly," added the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies.

The Head of BBPOM Medan, Drs. Martin Suhendri, Apt, M.Farm, said many things can be done through this MoA, including preparing students to understand the business process in BBPOM.

In addition, BBPOM Medan also allows USU Vocational Faculty students to participate in internships and street vendors."We need to prepare generations for the nation's future from the beginning, especially for Pre-Market and Post-Market supervision. We know that the pillars of this supervision are carried out by three parties, namely the government, the community, and business actors, to prepare students to become entrepreneurs to understand how the system at BBPOM," said the Head of BBPOM Medan.

Rusdin Pinem S.KM., M.Si., as the Head of UPTD Labkesda North Sumatra Province, emphasized that students, as the nation's next generation, can significantly contribute to realizing prosperity. This collaboration is carried out to provide provisions for students related to the examination of Clinical Laboratory testing and Health Laboratories.

"We would be delighted if many students can take advantage of the use of this laboratory to conduct examinations and tests and conduct socialization in testing parameters from clinical and health laboratories," added the Head of UPTD Labkesda North Sumatra Province.

By signing this collaboration on both sides, students of the Faculty of Vocational Studies are expected to take advantage of existing facilities to increase knowledge and practice well can develop student expertise to prepare themselves for the industrial world later.
