FK USU Holds Radiology Specialist Inauguration and Introduction of new Radiology PPDS

USU PR - The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the Submission of Specialist Marks & Introduction of New PPDS Radiology Study Program. This activity was also attended by representatives from Adam Malik Hospital and Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, at Diponegoro Ballroom, Le Polonia Hotel & Convention, Tuesday (22/10/2024).
A total of four doctors passed the National Radiology Specialist Examination at Diponegoro University, namely dr. Fariz Nugraha Akbar, M.Ked (Rad), Sp.Rad, dr. Ade Irma, M.Ked (Rad), Sp.Rad, dr. M. Randy Harry, M.Ked (Rad), and dr. M. Avicienna Zamzami, M.Ked (Rad), Sp.Rad. The Radiology Study Program also appreciated four new Radiology Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS), namely dr. Raina Benita Br. Sinuraya, dr. Rezky Ilham Saputra, dr. Rizki Hariansyah, and dr. Rodearni Sri Ningsih Haloho.
USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., represented by Dr. Joiverdia Arifiyanto, S.H., M.H. in his remarks said that the certificates given to the four Radiology Specialists were not only symbolic but also a starting point for a new journey of Radiology Practitioners who brought seriousness and perseverance. One of the things requested by the Rector to the new Radiology Specialists is that they can continue to develop themselves into doctors who are moral, qualified, community-oriented, and globally competitive.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FK USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S (K) said, Radiology, as a newly formed Study Program in September 2018, certainly had faced several problems which over time were successfully overcome together. There was an increase in the number of graduates of FK USU Radiology Specialists and PPDS when compared to last February, responding to this, the Dean of FK USU expressed his hope that the PPDS Radiology Study Program could graduate on time, 8 semesters.
“We also understand that this is a new study program opened in September 2018, so there are several obstacles that thank God together we can face, we hope that in the future this will be even better, and we hope that all FK USU Radiology PPDS can graduate on time in 8 semesters,” said the Dean of FK USU.
In line with that, the Head of the Radiology Study Program at FK USU, dr. Dedy Dwi Putra, Sp.Rad. feels proud and committed to continuing to produce Radiology Specialists who are reliable and have a spirit of community service. He divulged the Radiology Study Program's plans for the future, namely to collaborate with government agencies and the general public, in order to improve the quality of public health.
“With the increase in doctors, hopefully, it can contribute to the needs of the community, hopefully, this initial step can become an innovative research center of excellence, in the future, the FK USU radiology study program can work with government agencies and the general public to improve public health,” said the Chairperson of the FK USU Radiology Study Program.
