USU PR - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received an audience from the Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) which was welcomed by the Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. in the Audience Room of the USU Administrative Center Bureau Building on Monday, (31/7/2023).
Nationwide University Network in Indonesia is a network of 21 universities in the archipelago which aims to increase the mobility of students, lecturers, and also increase collaborative research.
Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and USU Cooperation Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt welcomed the return of NUNI. Previously, USU has also long participated in a consortium with NUNI.
Vice Rector III USU hopes that students and lecturers can participate in programs that have been designed together with 21 universities in supporting internationalization activities such as exchanges.
“Yes, we must welcome it. Alhamdulillah, we have been participating in this consortium for a long time. Now we just have to follow the programs that are available. There are 4 pillars, and currently, there are quite a lot that we can follow. Students participate in exchanges, then lecturers. In the future maybe our internationalization activities will also be incorporated in this NUNI so that cooperation, especially international ones, can be achieved more and more together with the 21 universities that are members here, “said Prof. Poppy.
Furthermore, the Head of the Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) Prof. Dr. Ir. Y. Budi Widianarko, M.Sc. said that USU is one of the members of the association of 21 leading universities in Indonesia. The NUNI audience to USU is one of the friendship agendas and aims to introduce and report on several activities that have taken place and will be carried out, therefore NUNI needs USU's support in the program.
“We want to stay in touch representing NUNI Nationwide University Network in Indonesia, where USU is one of the members of the association of 21 leading universities in Indonesia. We hope that with this visit, we will introduce and report some of the activities that will and have taken place with the hope that USU's support is very important for future activities,” said Prof. Budi.
During this visit, NUNI received program planning suggestions to present and bring together the board of trustees who are the Rectors of 21 universities.
Together with supporting internationalization, Secretary of Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) Prof. Idris Gautama So, S.E.., S. Kom., M.M., Ph.D explained that there are 4 pillars that have been discussed such as student and lecturer exchanges, internationalization, research, and global reputation.
“Earlier, it was conveyed that there are 4 pillars of this activity. The first is student and lecturer exchanges, internationalization, there is research, and there is also a global reputation,” he said.
