As part of the implementation of accreditation activities, the Institute for Self-Accreditation of Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) held an offline field assessment of the Biology Doctoral Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (F-MIPA) of North Sumatra University (USU) on January 24 and 25, 2023.

LAMSAMA assessors Prof. Dr. L. Hartanto Nugroho, M.Agr from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Prof. Dr. Yosephine Sri Wulan Manuhara, M.Si from Universitas Airlangga were at the event on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. It took place in the Multipurpose Room of F-MIPA USU.

LAMSAMA assessors Prof. Dr. L. Hartanto Nugroho, M.Agr from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Prof. Dr. Yosephine Sri Wulan Manuhara, M.Si from Airlangga University were at the event on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. It took place in the Multipurpose Room of F-MIPA USU.

Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt, Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, thanked the LAMSAMA assessor team for their participation. The team will do a field assessment of the Biological Sciences Doctoral study program accreditation at FMIPA USU. With all the preparations made, Vice Rector III is optimistic that the Doctoral program in Biological Sciences can get Excellent accreditation.


"Two people from Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Gajah Mada are evaluating our biological science doctoral study. This doctoral program in biological science has succeeded in getting Very Good accreditation, so I'm optimistic that it could get Excellent accreditation. For the assessment, the accreditations team can respond to questions well and prepare for everything they need " Vice chancellor for research, community service, and cooperation.


Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of FMIPA at USU, stated that they had prepared for over six months, including summaries and documentation of accomplishments and enhancements to be assessed.


"We've been working on this preparation for almost six months since the drafting teams have been trying to record all the accomplishments and improvements from the mature evaluation," said the Dean of FMIPA Faculty USU. "We hope all the documentation can produce good results for this accreditation to develop."


Professor Dr. L. Hartanto Nugroho, M.Agr, the LAMSAMA assessor, said that he would verify various information contained in the study program performance report for two days. According to the Natural Science and Formal Science Self-Accreditation Institute, the doctoral study program in biological science will be able to meet the requirements for documents as verification standards.


"So, we ask for permission to use these two days to verify different kinds of information written in the study program performance report instrument. So we hope to get information later, and we're sorry if we have to ask for documents later. We want to make sure and finish what has been set as a standard in LAMSAMA, "Dr. L. Hartanto Nugroho, M.Agr., said.
