MEDAN - USU PR: Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) accepted 2,346 new students for the academic year 2023/2024 from the Independent Student Selection (SMM) admission pathway, whose exams were held on 15-21 July 2023. The announcement of the names of SMM participants who passed has been posted on the announcement.usu.ac.id page Thursday (27/7/2023). In addition, previously, USU had also graduated 249 new students from the Western PTN Independent Student Selection (SMM) route and 25 new students from the Gas Station route.

USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin, S Sos, M Si, explained this to the media through USU Public Relations, Protocol and Promotion Office Head Amalia Meutia, M Psi, Psychologist. Rector said the 2,346 students who passed were among the 6,310 SMM participants who participated in the 2023 selection process.

In congratulating the participants who graduated from SMM USU, the Rector also expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of UTBK SMM USU in 2023 which went well and smoothly without being colored by cases of cheating. Given that in implementing UTBK in 2023, USU has tightened security at the exam location and transparency in the overall student admission process. The university strives to find superior student candidates who will contribute to the quality of its graduates.

Meanwhile, the Head of USU's Office of Public Relations, Protocol, and Promotion, Amalia Meutia, said that in 2023 the study program that became the favorite choice of examinees was still relatively the same as in previous years. Namely, the Medical Education Study Programme, which recorded 1,258 enthusiasts. The Law Study Programme with 1,380 enthusiasts Management with 886 enthusiasts. The 3 study programs with the lowest number of applicants are Physics Study Programme with 8 participants. Two participants participated in the Regional Literature Study Programme for Batak Literature, and two participated in the Regional Literature Study Programme for Melayu Literature.

"We congratulate you on joining the big family of the Universitas Sumatera Utara to all prospective new students who are accepted through this SMM pathway. Hopefully, all your goals can be achieved well later, "said Amalia.

In addition, Amalia Meutia also reminded us that SMM participants who have passed can immediately register and submit files online from 31 July to 4 August 2023 through the page http://registrasi.usu.ac.id. After registration, the prospective new students can follow the next stages, namely payment of tuition fees on 7-11 August 2023, which is carried out after the issuance of a virtual account, filling out the study plan card (KRS), as well as drug testing (8-11 August 2023) and medical examinations (12, 14, 15 and 16 August 2023).

Amalia appealed to all SMM participants who have passed to read and pay close attention to all registration procedures contained on the http://registrasi.usu.ac.id page. Thus, no single schedule or requirement is missed, which will result in the cancellation of their graduation
