USU PR - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) through the Animal Husbandry Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture (FP USU) officially established a collaboration with PT Agro Sindo International. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was carried out on Tuesday (2/10/2024) in the USU Transformation Towards Ultimate (TTU) Room.

This cooperation aims to improve the quality of human resources in the field of animal husbandry, especially FP USU students. Through this MoU, it is hoped that there will be synergy between the world of education and industry, so that FP USU graduates can be better prepared to face the challenges of the real world of work.

Vice Rector III of USU, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. Welcomed this collaboration. She hopes that this collaboration can provide significant benefits for both parties, especially in improving the quality of education and research in the field of animal husbandry.

In line with Vice Rector III, the Dean of FP USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S., explained that this collaboration is in line with FP USU's vision to develop animal husbandry study programs. She added that it requires competent partners in the field of animal husbandry to support educational, research, and community service activities.

Meanwhile, drh. B Bobby Chrisenta as Chief Operating Officer of PT Agro Sindo International revealed that his party was very enthusiastic about this collaboration. He revealed that he sees great potential in developing goat and sheep farming in Indonesia, and cooperation with USU is a strategic step to achieve this goal. One of the programs that will be developed in this collaboration is the formation of a breeding cluster with financial inclusion. This program is expected to provide opportunities for FP USU students to learn entrepreneurship in the livestock sector.

“Seeing the great potential in developing goat and sheep farming in Indonesia and cooperation with USU is a strategic step to achieve this goal,” said Bobby.
