USU PR—The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU) successfully hosted a Gala Dinner on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, as part of the 72nd Anniversary celebrations. The event, themed "Educating the Mind and Reaching the Heart, 72 Years of Enlightenment," took place at the Digital Learning Centre Building at USU and was marked by festive celebrations.

In his remarks, USU Vice-Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A., expressed his appreciation for the achievements FK USU has garnered over its 72-year history. He highlighted the excellent reputation of FK USU, as evidenced by its alumni, who are now spread across various continents. According to him, these achievements reflect the outstanding progress of FK USU.

“Yes, we can see that FK USU has been around for nearly 72 years, and its reputation is evident from the alumni who are now present in almost every continent,” said Dr. Edy Ikhsan.

Dean of FK USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Aldy Safruddin Rambe, Sp.S(K), took the opportunity to thank the alumni who attended the event. He emphasized the critical role alumni play in the advancement of the faculty and expressed his hope for stronger and more supportive relationships between FK USU and its alumni.

“I hope that the good relationship between FK USU and the alumni will become even closer and more mutually supportive,” said Prof. Aldy.

Meanwhile, FK USU Vice Dean I, Dr. dr. Delyuzar, M.Ked., Sp.PA(K), expressed his hope that FK USU will continue to grow into a faculty recognized at the international level. He also expressed his gratitude for the full support from the rectorate, which has consistently backed all initiatives aimed at advancing USU.

“We are very grateful for the full support from the rectorate, which always supports activities aimed at advancing USU,” said Dr. Delyuzar.

The 72nd Anniversary Gala Dinner of FK USU served as a gathering for the academic community, alumni, and industry partners. It also provided a moment to reflect on FK USU's long journey and to plan strategic steps for the future.
