HUMAS USU – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed a delegation from PT Pegadaian Regional Office I Medan to discuss potential collaboration and scholarship opportunities at the University Tower Meeting Room (TTU) on Friday (19/06/2026).

The meeting was attended by USU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., along with representatives from PT Pegadaian Regional Office I Medan led by Regional Head Yohanis Wulang.

During the meeting, Prof. Poppy expressed her appreciation for PT Pegadaian’s initiative in supporting education through scholarship programs for university students.

She emphasized that USU remains open to various forms of collaboration that contribute to academic development, the enhancement of human resources, and student welfare.

“Scholarship programs like this provide valuable support for students to continue developing both their academic and non-academic potential throughout their higher education journey,” said Prof. Poppy.

Meanwhile, Yohanis Wulang, Regional Head of PT Pegadaian Regional Office I Medan, explained that the Pegadaian Scholarship Program is part of the company's commitment to supporting the realization of Indonesia’s Golden Generation.

According to him, the program is intended for high-achieving students who face economic challenges but demonstrate strong determination to pursue higher education and further develop their skills and potential.

The meeting concluded with a shared expectation that the collaboration between USU and PT Pegadaian will continue to grow and contribute to improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources through broader access to education and various self-development opportunities for outstanding students.
