USU - HK Haibin China Sign Cooperation

USU PR—Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) signed a cooperation agreement with Haibin from China at the Rector's Office on Thursday (02/29/2024).
The signing of this cooperation follows the November visit by the USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. Cooperation is carried out with HK Haibin Education Group Limited, a university owned by the world's largest aluminum management company. The aluminum will later be processed into aircraft components.
Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. said that in addition to the collaboration's signing, talks were also held regarding technical issues of recruiting new students who could then study at USU and new students who would study in China.
“This agreement is quite important to carry out what we have started because then we will discuss technical issues,” said Prof. Mury.
Director of the USU Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, Prof. Dr. Eng Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T., said one of the collaborations was joint master cooperation. Later, lecturers from China who meet the qualifications of USU will be recruited as USU lecturers who teach in China.
“The first S-2 is half studying in China and at USU. In China, the lecturers are divided into 60% USU lecturers (and) 40% Chinese lecturers. So later we will recruit 2, the lecturers and the students, “explained Prof. Himsar.
Prof. Himsar also said that this collaboration could help USU achieve the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) and World Class University (WCU).
Vice Rector II, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt hopes that this collaboration can involve USU alumni to work in China so that USU's IKU 1 can also be implemented.
“The hope is that employee recruitment is also from our alumni, so IKU 1 can also be achieved,” said Prof. Poppy.
Chairman of HK Haibin Education Group Limited, Hu Haibin B. Eng, MEc, MBA,. Ph.D. said that apart from education, there was also work in the field of research. He said that in research at the aluminum factory, several things had not been solved; therefore, together with USU, he hoped to further research the problem.
“So in the research at the factory, there are some things that have not been solved, so we want to study further, so there is also cooperation,” said Hu Haibin.
