USU Holds PPID Public Information Disclosure Workshop

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Workshop on Public Information Disclosure of Information Management and Documentation Officials. Inviting the Expert Assistant to the Indonesian Central Information Commission, Siti Ajijah, SH, MH as a speaker, the event took place in the Academic Senate Room of the USU Central Administration Bureau Building on Wednesday, (09/07/2022).
The PPID Public Information Disclosure Workshop was opened directly by the Secretary of the USU University, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K) who in his speech appreciated the holding of this workshop.
Followed by public relations at the faculty, hospital, and graduate school levels, the Secretary of the University said that this activity was aimed at facilitating PPIDs in carrying out their duties in managing information. So that PPID must follow as well as observe and understand the material thoroughly in order to facilitate the tasks and performance of PPID.
"Because we both know that an organized management of information will make it easier for PPID to carry out their duties later, this workshop is very important to be followed, observed and understood thoroughly," explained Prof. Fidel.
Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K) hopes that PPID can provide the information needed by the public and the USU academic community. In addition, managing and updating data efficiently and disciplined so that the data presented is the latest data and supports the needs of information applicants.
On that occasion the PPID workshop presenter Siti Ajijah, SH, MH explained that the role of public relations is not only to do documentation but to refer to Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure, the role of public relations is to manage public information services or PPID.
"So public relations is not only taking care of documentation for taking care of photos, but indeed here the work of public relations is added in accordance with Law No. 14 on Public Information Openness," explained Siti Ajijah.
Expert Assistant to the Indonesian Central Information Commission Siti Ajijah hopes that through this activity, PPIDs in faculties and hospitals can implement matters relating to public information disclosure in accordance with existing laws. (©ULC)
