USU PR—Strengthening the internationalization program which is the priority work program of Rector Prof. Muryanto Amin, the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) introduced excellence at the Eurasia Higher Education Summit 2024 education exhibition which took place in Istanbul, Turkey on February 26-29, 2024. On this occasion, USU, represented by the Secretary Director of the Directorate of Internationalization, Arif Nuryawan, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D. and Head of Public Relations Protocol and Promotion Amelia Meutia, M.Psi., Psychologist, opened its own booth to expand the network of partnerships and the development of international academic cooperation at the world level.

The Coordinator of General Substance, Cooperation, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Yayat Hendayana, appreciated USU's role and participation in the EURIE 2024 event as the largest legal entity state university in Indonesia which was able to open its own booth so that it could focus more on introducing the advantages and uniqueness of its higher education programs.

“We hope that this activity can provide greater opportunities for USU to enter the world higher education market in Europe and Asia,” said Yayat.

Meanwhile, Secretary Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships Arif Nuryawan, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D. said, as an international standard university characterized by local excellence, USU's presence to participate in the EURIE (Europe-Asia) Exhibition in Turkey brought scientific clusters and centers of excellence for science and technology or PUIs that have local advantages TALENTA (Tropical science & medicine, Agroindustry, Local wisdom, Energy, Natural resources, Technology appropriate, and Art).

“USU also emphasizes Malay and Batak culture to attract cooperation with USU. Congratulations to USU, success in its internationalization program,” he said.

For information, Eurie: Eurasia Higher Education Summit 2024 which took place in Istanbul, Turkey is an annual major international higher education exhibition and convention in the Asia-Europe region which is attended by educators, academics, policy makers, and other stakeholders in the field of higher education from all over the world.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology through the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology in 2024 coordinates and cooperates with nine leading Indonesian academic universities to participate in the Eurie 2024 event to strengthen the publication of Indonesian higher education programs in the international arena.
