USU Public Relations - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has successfully entered the ranks of 10 tertiary institutions (PT) with the highest number of patent applications in Indonesia.

For this achievement, USU was rewarded with an award from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights which was received by Deputy Rector III Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt. in Jakarta, Monday, November 21,2022.

Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H Laoly explained, the appreciation was based on the Directorate General of Intellectual Property.

The Universitas Sumatera Utara is considered to play an active role in spurring the growth of creativity and intellectual property innovation in the context of national economic recovery.

Prof. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan explained, for this assessment, USU was given an award as a recipient of the Kemenkumham appreciation for the Higher Education category with the highest number of Top 10 Patent Applications in Indonesia in 2022.

"We hope that in the following years this achievement can be continuously improved or at least maintained," Prof. Poppy said.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights gave 37 awards in three categories. 10 awards for the Higher Education category with the top ten most number of patent applications during 2020-2022, namely Andalas University, Brawijaya University, UGM, Undip, ITB, Sam Ratulangi University, State University of Malang, IPB, USU and UI (©ULC)
