USU 34th PIMNAS Poster Exhibition Opened to the Public
The 34th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) on Thursday (10/28/2021) was filled with poster exhibitions and talk shows. The poster exhibition itself featured 735 posters on scientific products consisting of 8 PKM fields and was opened to the public, especially middle and high school students.

USU PIMNAS Team Presents the Benefits of Kecombrang for Prostate Cancer and Ultrasonic Sensor Wheelchairs
The USU PKM-RE team presented a presentation entitled "Utilization of Carbon Nanofiber Film Chemosensors from Batang Kecombrang (Etlingera Elatior) as a Prostate Cancer Diagnostic Sensitive Material". Team Leader Wardhani Septina Sembiring explained that their research has the potential to provide information to the public regarding the use of kecombrang stems as chemosensory material. "Meanwhile, in the medical field, their research has the potential to create a prostate cancer diagnosis tool," she said.

USU Students in the Field Given BPJS Employment Insurance
According to the Rector, protection for students in the field is very necessary to keep students feeling safe and comfortable when carrying out their activities. Students who are interns are considered to be working so that USU PR - Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si., together with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan discussed a cooperation plan regarding BPJS insurance for students who are currently active in the field. The insurance is in the form of increased protection for students who are doing internships, KKN, or street vendors outside the campus.
