The Academic Senate is the university's highest standardization board in the academic field, consisting of the rector, deans of faculties, and elected professors and lecturers from nonprofessor lecturers and other bodies called from the Academic Senate. The main tasks of the Academic Senate include providing input to the minister regarding the MWA assessment of lecturer performance, formulating academic achievement assessment policies, formulating norms and benchmarks for the implementation of USU based on the MWA assessment of the rector's performance, and providing input to the rector in the preparation of strategic plans and supervising academic quality in the implementation of the university.
