USU PR - The Institute for Self-Accreditation of Informatics and Computers (LAM-INFOKOM) held a field assessment of the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). This activity occurred offline in the Multipurpose Room Building E, Fasilkom-TI USU, from Monday, March 20 to March 21.

Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service, and USU Cooperation Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt., representing USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin S.sos.., M.Si welcomed the arrival of the assessment team from LAM-INFOKOM, Wahyu Chess Wibowo, M.Sc., Ph.D. from Universitas Indonesia and Dr. Ir. R. Rizal Isnanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng. from Universitas Diponegoro.

"First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to the LAM-INFOKOM Assessor Team, who have been pleased to attend the assessment activities, the opening of which took place today, as part of the implementation of accreditation activities for the S-2 Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Study Program of USU's Fasilkom-TI," said Prof. Poppy.

On this occasion, the assessor stated that for two days, he would confirm verification related to various information contained in the instrument of the performance report of the Master of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Study Program that could meet the needs of the document as a verification standard for LAM-INFOKOM.

In his remarks, Vice Rector III stated that the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence could become a barometer of science and technology progress at the national and global levels by maintaining the previous Excellent Accreditation.

"We hope that in this assessment, the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of USU's Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology can maintain its good achievements to increase the public’s trust to continue their children's education in this study program. Hopefully, with this Field Assessment activity, the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology will be able to continue to develop itself as a superior study program within USU, as well as a study program that is a barometer of science and technology progress, both at the national and global levels," added Prof. Poppy.

In line with this, the Dean of Fasilkom-TI USU, Dr. Maya Silvi Lydia, B.Sc., M.Sc., hopes the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence will get the best results so that it can develop the entire academic process and maintain achievements that make the university proud.

"We hope that after the field assessment from LAM-INFOKOM, the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence will get the best results. So, we will be more capable and improve the process of all academic activities in the Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Also, later when the results of the field assessment come out, God willing, good results will be given so that it can be an achievement for USU," said Dr. Maya.
