USU Achieves Significant Improvement in THE Impact Rankings 2024

USU PR—Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has made a notable achievement by improving its standing in the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. THE Impact Rankings assess universities based on their contributions to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2023, USU ranked between 801-1000 globally and has now risen to the 601-800 range in 2024, reflecting the commitment and hard work of the entire academic community toward these goals.
USU has shown impressive progress across several SDG categories, highlighting the university’s dedication to various aspects of sustainable development. Among the 17 SDG categories.
USU achieved a total score of 64.5 – 69.8, solidifying its position in the 601-800 global ranking range. Nationally, USU ranks 8th among 45 Indonesian universities listed in this year’s THE Impact Rankings, reflecting the increasingly competitive landscape among the country's higher education institutions. Other universities sharing the 8th position with USU include Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, and Universitas Sebelas Maret.
USU's success in improving its ranking in the 2024 THE Impact Rankings not only reflects academic progress but also demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting sustainable development in various fields.
