USU and PLN Icon Plus Forge Partnership to Enhance Campus Electrical Quality

This partnership is driven by USU’s growing need for better connectivity and energy development to support its academic activities. Both parties have agreed to focus on developing flagship programs aimed at optimizing electricity use within the campus environment.
USU PR – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has officially entered into a collaboration with PLN Icon Plus to improve the quality of electrical services across the campus. The memorandum of understanding was signed by USU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and the General Manager of PLN Icon Plus’s North Sumatra Region (SUMBAGUT), Ajun Muhammad Imanto, during a ceremony held at USU’s Rector's Audience Room on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024.
This partnership is driven by USU’s growing need for better connectivity and energy development to support its academic activities. Both parties have agreed to focus on developing flagship programs aimed at optimizing electricity use within the campus environment.
USU’s Rector warmly welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing that USU and PLN Icon Plus will jointly develop initiatives such as the Eco Green Plus program and the utilization of renewable energy. USU will prepare the necessary resources, while PLN Icon Plus will provide technical assistance. Additionally, USU plans to promote PLN Iconnet Plus services to the entire academic community.
“We are very pleased with this partnership,” said Prof. Muryanto.
“Moving forward, we will work together on initiatives like Eco Green Plus and renewable energy. USU will handle the necessary preparations, while PLN Icon Plus will offer technical guidance. We will also launch promotional campaigns to introduce PLN Iconnet Plus services to all USU students and staff.”
Ajun Muhammad Imanto, the General Manager of PLN Icon Plus for the North Sumatra Region, explained that this partnership will also create opportunities for USU graduates to join the company and offer internships to students, particularly those from PLN Icon Plus’s partner institutions. He noted that this collaboration aligns well with USU’s vision of creating an environmentally friendly campus.
“This partnership benefits not only USU but also PLN Icon Plus. We will open opportunities for USU graduates to join our company and provide internship opportunities for students, especially those from our partner institutions. This is in line with USU’s vision to create an eco-friendly campus,” Ajun added.
