USU Holds Public Lecture Discussing the Digitalization of Batak Script in the Digital Age: idFEST 2024 Pre-event

USU PR - The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a public lecture with the theme “Digitalization of Batak Script in the Digital Age,” in the framework of the idFEST 2024 pre-event roadshow. The event took place at the USU Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Hall on Wednesday, (09/10/2024).
USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos. M.Si., who was represented by the Director of the USU Education Development Directorate, Dr. Muhammad Anggia Muchtar. S.T. MMIT stated that digitization is not only to document but also to revive and introduce the Batak script to the younger generation. He invited all parties to be actively involved in cultural preservation through technology. He also said that USU strongly supports efforts to preserve culture through a digital approach.
“We see technology as a powerful tool to bridge the past and the future,” Anggia said.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Rangga Danusa as PANDI's Business Strategic Manager revealed PANDI's commitment to improving digital literacy in Indonesia, working with various universities to create passion among the younger generation in website development and information access. This activity is an annual agenda that is expected to make young people more productive and connected to the digital world.
“One of the things PANDI does is digital literacy because we are also an extension of KOMINFO to increase our resources throughout Indonesia,” said Rangga.
