The Bureau of Academics is a support unit responsible for academic affairs and reports to the rector. The bureau is tasked with carrying out administrative duties for educational programs. According to the USU Strategic Plan 2020-2024, the Bureau of Academics has strategic goals for improving the education system, such as enhancing the quality of student services for all admissions channels, including National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP), National Test-Based Selection, Independent Program, and others as well as improving the quality of administrative services and academic events at Universitas Sumatera Utara.
